چکیده
Breast cancer is the deadliest form of in women, but it also has very high survival rates when treated early. Existing breast detection methods such as mammography are ineffective early due to low uptake among women and need for regular screening. Therefore, biosensors have been proposed an alternative method cost-effective screening which may encourage more go regularly. In this paper, a gold nano-urchins enhanced plasmonic sensor demonstrated typical marker, estrogen receptor alpha (ERα). The localized field confinement effect sharp features amplifies biosensing signal improves its sensitivity compared conventional surface plasmon resonance (SPR) biosensor.

Antibody Conjugated Gold Nanoparticles for Detection of Small Amounts of Antigen Based on Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) Spectra
In this paper, a fast and sensitive localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) based biosensor was developed and the optimization of gold – antibody conjugates through investigation of different parameters were performed. Gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) with a size of ~20 nm were synthesized via chemical reduction of HAuCl4 with trisodium citrate as reducing and stabilizing agent. The impacts of pH ...
متن کاملInfluence of surface plasmon resonance on the emission intermittency of photoluminescence from gold nano-sea-urchins.
The effect of surface plasmon resonance (SPR) on the blinking emission of photoluminescence from noble metal nanostructures still requires further investigation in quantum mechanics and limits their applications. We investigate one photon luminescent emission intermittency of noble metal nanostructures with differently sized sea-urchin-shaped nanoparticles, known as nano-sea-urchins (NSUs). The...
متن کاملNano Sensing and Energy Conversion Using Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR)
Nanophotonic technique has been attracting much attention in applications of nano-bio-chemical sensing and energy conversion of solar energy harvesting and enhanced energy transfer. One approach for nano-bio-chemical sensing is surface plasmon resonance (SPR) imaging, which can detect the material properties, such as density, ion concentration, temperature, and effective refractive index in hig...
متن کاملSilicides for infrared surface plasmon resonance biosensors
Pt-, Pd-, Ni-, and Ti-silicide films on silicon were evaluated as conducting hosts for surface plasmon polaritons (SPP) in proposed long-wave IR (LWIR) attenuated total reflection biosensors. Original LWIR complex permittivity data was collected, from which SPP properties were determined and compared with those for noble metals. LWIR SPPs on silicide films were found to offer enhanced sensitivi...
متن کاملA Gold Nanoparticles Enhanced Surface Plasmon Resonance Immunosensor for Highly Sensitive Detection of Ischemia-Modified Albumin
In this study a novel sensitive nanogold particle sensor enhancement based on mixed self-assembled monolayers was explored and used to construct a Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) immunosensor to detect Ischemia Modified Albumin (IMA). Compared with a direct binding SPR assay at a limit of detection (LOD) of 100 ng/L, gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) of 10 nm dramatically improved the LOD of IMA to 10...
